Diabetics cannot have all the available food items. Fruits are sweet in taste due to some natural sugars that are present in them, but along with that they have lots of other nutrients namely vitamins, fiber and antioxidants that are essential for diabetes.

Apples: Apples are perfect for diabetes patients. They are great snack to pack for work or school. Apples are highly rich in pectin, a fiber that helps reduce cholesterol levels. Having apples will reduce the risk of cancer and also wards off eye disease.

Strawberry: Having strawberries will help you to stay full for long. Your blood sugar levels will always remain steady and along with that your energy levels will be sustained for a longer period of time.

Pear: Pears are rich in vitamins and minerals and also rich in fiber that regulates the blood sugar levels also lowers cholesterol and improves digestion too. Grapes: Grapes are great source of vitamin C. Vitamin C is a powerful natural antioxidant that helps to lift up your body's resistance levels. Grapes have got the essence that helps increase body's sensitivity to insulin thus helps you have a balanced and healthy weight.

Orange: Oranges help boost vitamin C that ultimately protects us against infections and keeps your immune system in track. It also lowers blood cholesterol levels.

Papaya: They are good for diabetics because they are rich in vitamin and other minerals.

Watermelon: Although watermelons have a high GI value, their glycemic load is low, making them good fruits for diabetes patients.
