Your feet move you through the world, help you stand up to your day, and ground you. They also need to be kept soft, strong and free of problems.
These 6 steps will help your feet stay fabulous.
1. Soak Your Feet
A relaxing foot soak for 15-20 minutes will do wonders. You may add aromatherapy salts or oils to the water. Do not use water that is too hot. This will cause your skin to dry out more. Use a toenail brush to gently scrub your toenails at the end of your soak. If you have an open sore on your foot, check with your podiatrist before soaking.
2. Remove hard skin
Gently remove hard skin and calluses with a pumice stone or foot file regularly.
Scrub your entire foot with a gritty foot scrub. Some scrubs wash with tangerine peels, while others have crystallized beads. This scrub will help remove all the dry skin and rough patches that still remain on your feet.
3. Take a shower.
Make sure your feet are clean. Scrub them well with a good body wash.
Generally you won't need to wash your feet throughout the winter months unless they get really dirty for some reason but in the summer when you are going barefoot at the beach, washing and cleaning your feet is a must. Seeing someone with dirty feet is not pretty so make a habit of cleaning your feet off before you go to bed each night.
