Something that grows from the follicles found in the skin is called as hair. It grows naturally and is also one of the defining characteristics of mammalian species.
Apart from being a primary biomaterial, hair is also concerned with it's growth, hair type(such as color, texture, thickness, etc.) and hair care. Each hair strand is made up of a tough protein called keratin. Follicle is the place where each hair strand grown from the skin.
There are three step involved in hair growth cycle:
1. The growth phase (anagen),
2. The transitional phase (catagen)
3. Resting phase (Telogen).
Hair fall has become the most prominent problem faced by people everywhere. It is really unfortunate to find yourself at a stage where you are going bald at the best time of your life. More youngsters are facing this issue nowadays.
Many factors contribute to the hair loss, namely hectic life schedule, bad and wrong eating habits, etc. These factors stop us from following a beauty regime.
Other such similar causes could be skin allergies, dermatitis, medications and drug intake etc.
There are temporary and permanent hair loss being experienced. Some techniques have been recommended that can be made in use to handle this situation to an extent.
Some of the easiest and most feasible methods to be practiced at home for a healthy and beautiful hair are as follows:
1. Hot oil treatments: any oil such as coconut oil, sesame oil or olive oil can be used for this purpose. Any of these oil should be little heated, so that it becomes warm. The massaged oil should remain onto your hair for at least an hour so that it gets penetrated deep into the hair follicles to nourish the roots. Gentle massaging also helps regulate blood circulation
2. Aviod intake of junk food:
most important and prime step towards healthy and strong hair growth is by cutting off all unhealthy, junk food from your diet. Eating healthy food and drinking lot of water not only help enhance hair growth but also grants you with healthy looking skin. Skipping food in the name of dieting, starving and crash dieting for reducing weight can result in poor hair growth. Include a lot of protein rich food such as wheat, barley and maize and also fresh green leafy vegetables in your diet.
3. Combat stress for general hair care:
Stress can prove to be one of the major reasons behind hair fall. It could be kept under control by practicing yoga , meditation and other related exercises. Try not to have hot water head bath as it may lead to enlargement of hair follicles, resulting in ill health of the hair. Hair would become brittle and break apart.
Do not brush your hair too often as it might hamper the natural texture of your hair. Also make sure that you don't indulge yourself into too much of styling such as hair straightening, smoothening, perming, etc. These procedures are done applying heat which is said to be very unhealthy for hair growth.
4. Natural juice and anti-oxidants:
Rubbing your scalp with garlic juice, onion juice curd, etc. will reduce the incidence of dandruff formation and would also give a soothing effect to the scalp. Green tea is also beneficial in reducing hair fall.
